Must Do: Summer 2015

As the weather gets nicer, I spend as much time as I can outdoors–swimming, grilling, reading in the park. But, the last few days have been unbearably hot and humid that I have retreated to the indoors with A/C. I think the summer came early this year–or maybe I just can’t handle the humidity here…

Here’s a fun list of summery ideas that are good for the days that are just too sticky:

  • Water Coloring Class– I found this great class online taught by Yao Cheng. The class is extremely informative and nice if you are just starting out.
  • Canning –This is one of my favorite summer projects! Most summers, my family would visit a u-pick farm and bring home so many berries that we would have to make jam! Now that I am living in a southern state, I felt it would be a fitting to can peaches. I will be following instructions from this blogger.

  • Salsa Time — homemade salsa is probably one of the easiest things you can make and it is great to bring to BBQ’s or potlucks. Here is a good recipe for Brazilian Onion Salsa from “Moosewood Restaurant Cooks at Home“. If you have a blender it becomes even easier.

  • Plan your next vacation — I found an amazing website that compiles many of the flight deals that are going on currently. If you have an interest in visiting new places for cheap this is a good place to start looking.
